Syzygium australe, with many common names that include brush cherry, scrub cherry, creek lilly-pilly, creek satinash, and watergum, is a rainforest tree native to eastern Australia. It can attain a height of up to 35 m with a trunk diameter of 60 cm.

Syzygium australe belongs to the Syzygium genus within the Myrtaceae family. It performs reliably across temperate, subtropical zones in our experience. It is an Australian native we grow and specify regularly.

Care sheet.
Standard species susceptible to psyllid (tiny insects causing leaf pimples). Use 'Resilience' or 'Select Form' cultivars for resistance. Treat with systemic insecticide if needed.
