Avocado (Persea americana) is a exotic tree included in the City of Sydney tree species list. Council data indicates approximately 16 m high and 8 m spread, with a oval canopy form. Its noted amenity value is prominent fruit. Its recorded local performance is somewhat reliable. Final selection should still account for available soil volume, services, exposure and the mature canopy required on the site.

Persea americana belongs to the Persea genus within the Lauraceae family. It performs reliably across temperate, subtropical, urban zones in our experience.
