Southern Catalpa

Southern Catalpa (Catalpa bignonoides) is a exotic tree included in the City of Sydney tree species list. Council data indicates approximately 18 m high and 12 m spread, with a rounded canopy form. Its noted amenity value is interesting foliage. Its recorded local performance is somewhat reliable. Final selection should still account for available soil volume, services, exposure and the mature canopy required on the site.

Catalpa bignonoides belongs to the Catalpa genus within the Bignoniaceae family. It performs reliably across temperate, subtropical, urban zones in our experience.
