Blue Palm

Blue Palm (Butia capitata) is a exotic tree included in the City of Sydney tree species list. Council data indicates approximately 8 m high and 5 m spread, with a palm canopy form. Its noted amenity value is interesting foliage. Its recorded local performance is very reliable. Final selection should still account for available soil volume, services, exposure and the mature canopy required on the site.

Butia capitata belongs to the Butia genus within the Arecaceae family. It performs reliably across temperate, subtropical, urban zones in our experience.
