Orchid Tree (Bauhinia variegata) is a exotic tree included in the City of Sydney tree species list. Council data indicates approximately 12 m high and 10 m spread, with a rounded canopy form. Its noted amenity value is prominent flowers. Its recorded local performance is somewhat reliable. Final selection should still account for available soil volume, services, exposure and the mature canopy required on the site.

Bauhinia variegata belongs to the Bauhinia genus within the Fabaceae family. It performs reliably across temperate, subtropical, urban zones in our experience.
